An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Golf Irrigation Technician to ensure the optimal performance of their irrigation systems. GENERAL SUMMARY
The Golf Irrigation Technician oversees the performance, maintenance, and servicing of the entire golf course irrigation system.
FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT
All team members are committed to delivering Four Diamond guest service by maintaining the quality standards established by Pechanga Resort Casino.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Recommend improvements for the irrigation system to ensure complete coverage.
• Ensure the irrigation system is fully operational, overseeing all repairs.
• Replace damaged irrigation parts as needed.
• Manage isolation valves, mainlines, quick couplers, and heads.
• Understand turf water needs, pressure requirements, flow, and drainage.
• Possess basic electrical knowledge.
• Operate hand tools, trencher, backhoe, pump stations, and other equipment.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work vehicle.
• Safely handle and maintain all tools and equipment.
• Use proper safety equipment at all times.
• Cover other areas when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Irrigation Technician is a vital part of the golf course management team, working closely with the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Equipment Technician.
ACCOUNTABILITY
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but is responsible for protecting company assets and maintaining a positive work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES
• Education: High school diploma or GED; or a one-year certificate from college or technical school in Golf Course Irrigation, or equivalent experience.
• Communication Skills: Ability to interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals; write routine reports; speak effectively.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; apply basic algebra and geometry.
• Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems; interpret instructions in various formats.
• Certifications: Certified Toro or Rainbird Irrigation Central system operator and programmer; CAD-based irrigation system certification.
• Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of pump station service and maintenance.
