Job description

Irrigation Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining commercial irrigation systems in designated landscaped areas to preserve or enhance the condition of plant materials or turf.

1. Monitor targeted areas for potential and existing problems.
2. Work independently or with others under minimal supervision.
3. Maintain accurate records of products used, problems encountered, and other essential information.
4. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
5. Operate various equipment safely and effectively.
6. Communicate well with team members and follow written and verbal instructions.
7. Willingness to work long hours and adapt to a varying schedule.
8. Work outdoors under changing environmental conditions.
9. Install systems and ensure their efficient operation.
10. Repair and maintain valves, trace electrical components, install and initialize clocks and timers, locate zones and valves, and perform pump repairs.
11. Adhere to company safety policies to ensure public safety around crews.
12. Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication, relationship building, and regular site visits.
13. Report results to the Irrigation Manager.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of experience or a two-year degree in a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience working with commercial irrigation systems.
• Strong work ethic.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer service experience.
• Knowledge of two-wire systems.
• Valid driver’s license with no offenses.
• Hourly wage: $20.00 - $25.00, based on experience and certifications.
