Job summary
Thanksgiving Point Institute Inc. is seeking an Irrigation Tech to maintain and repair irrigation systems across our gardens and grounds. You’ll troubleshoot components, adjust schedules, and help winterize systems to prepare for seasonal changes.
You will work outdoors, often with early hours, and collaborate with a friendly team to keep water features and landscapes thriving for guests year-round.
Qualifications
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and throughout changing seasons.
- Previous irrigation experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Rain Bird IQ4 irrigation control systems is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions, troubleshoot issues, and work independently when needed.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team and take pride in maintaining beautiful, welcoming outdoor spaces.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Irrigation Manager with maintaining and repairing irrigation systems throughout Thanksgiving Point’s property.
- Troubleshoot and repair irrigation components, including filters, valves, pipes, sprinkler heads, and nozzles.
- Adjust sprinkler heads, nozzles, and watering schedules to ensure proper coverage and efficient water use.
- Update irrigation clocks and schedules to accommodate new plantings, seasonal changes, and special events.
- Assist with seasonal irrigation system winterization, including fall blowouts.
- Respond to irrigation emergencies as needed, which may occasionally require work outside regularly scheduled hours or days.
- Clean, maintain, and care for water features throughout the gardens.
- Support year-round property care, including snow removal, gardening projects, holiday light installation, and seasonal cleanup.
- Work collaboratively with team members while following instructions, maintaining safe work practices, and completing assigned tasks.
- Exemplify Thanksgiving Point’s mission, values, and policies.

Irrigation Tech withGarden Maintenance, Job Description
Wage: $16.00-20.00/hour
Shift: Full time 30-39. Mon-Fri, some Saturdays. Hours: 6:00am -2:30pm, June through August, 7:00am – 3:30pm. September – May. Occasional weekend work required. Decreased hours during winter months.
