Thanksgiving Point is seeking an experienced Facilities HVAC Technician to join our Facilities team. This position will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve HVAC and mechanical systems throughout the Thanksgiving Point campus.

The Facilities HVAC Technician will work across a wide variety of buildings and environments, including museums, event spaces, offices, restaurants, gardens, and other guest‑facing facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in HVAC service, maintenance, installation or related field.
• Ability to diagnose HVAC, mechanical, electrical, control problems.
• Read manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Readily communicates with team members and vendors.

Responsabilités

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment campus‑wide.
• Diagnose heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration systems.
• Maintain rooftop units, air handlers and related equipment.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized service.

Facilities Maintenance Senior Technician Job Description

Wage: $34/hour+ DOE

Shift: Full time. The normal work schedule will be established by Facilities leadership based on operational needs. Thanksgiving Point hosts events and operates multiple facilities throughout the year, so occasional evening, holiday, emergency, or after‑hours work may be required.

Summary: Thanksgiving Point is seeking an experienced and dependable Facilities HVAC Technician to join our Facilities team. This position will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving HVAC and mechanical systems throughout the Thanksgiving Point campus.

The Facilities HVAC Technician will work across a wide variety of buildings and environments, including museums, event spaces, offices, restaurants, gardens, and other guest‑facing facilities. This position plays an important role in keeping our facilities comfortable, safe, reliable, and operating at a high level for our guests and Team Members.

The ideal candidate will have strong HVAC troubleshooting skills, be comfortable working independently, and also be willing to work as part of a larger Facilities team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, and is willing to jump in and help wherever needed.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and service on HVAC and mechanical equipment throughout the Thanksgiving Point campus.
• Diagnose and repair heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration‑related equipment.
• Maintain and repair rooftop units, split systems, air handlers, exhaust systems, pumps, motors, fans, VFDs, thermostats, and other HVAC‑related equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and control issues associated with HVAC equipment.
• Work with building automation and HVAC control systems to identify problems and improve building performance.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and document completed work.
• Respond to HVAC service calls and work requests throughout campus.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify potential problems before they result in equipment failure.
• Assist with maintaining proper temperatures and environmental conditions in museums, event spaces, offices, restaurants, and other facilities.
• Coordinate with outside HVAC contractors when specialized service or additional support is required.
• Assist Facilities leadership with obtaining information, recommendations, and pricing for HVAC repairs and equipment replacement.
• Support HVAC‑related work associated with remodels, construction projects, equipment replacement, commissioning, and building turnover.
• Maintain HVAC equipment, mechanical rooms, tools, parts, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Follow applicable safety procedures, codes, manufacturer requirements, and Thanksgiving Point policies.
• Communicate equipment problems, needed repairs, and potential concerns to Facilities leadership.
• Work closely with electricians, plumbers, carpenters, welders, painters, and other Facilities Team Members.
• Assist the Facilities team with general facility needs when necessary.
• Provide support for Thanksgiving Point events and operations as needed.
• Participate in an on‑call or emergency response rotation as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Previous professional experience in HVAC service, maintenance, installation, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and equipment.
• Ability to diagnose HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and control‑related problems.
• Experience working with rooftop units, air handlers, split systems, pumps, motors, and related commercial HVAC equipment.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance practices and the ability to recognize developing equipment problems.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical plans.
• Ability to use HVAC diagnostic tools and test equipment safely and correctly.
• EPA Section 608 certification preferred.
• HVAC trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent industry training preferred.
• Commercial HVAC experience strongly preferred.
• Building automation or HVAC controls experience is preferred.
• Refrigeration experience is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must be dependable, self‑motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with other Team Members, contractors, and vendors.
• Ability to work independently while also being a strong member of the Facilities team.
• Willingness to continue learning and developing skills in HVAC and other building systems.
• Physical Requirements include:
• Ability to regularly lift and carry equipment, tools, and materials.
• Ability to climb ladders and work from lifts and elevated locations.
• Ability to work in mechanical rooms, on rooftops, outdoors, and in other facility environments.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to safely work in hot and cold conditions as required.
• Ability to respond to HVAC and facility emergencies when needed.
