Job summary

BrightView Landscapes, LLC is seeking an Irrigation Technician to install and maintain irrigation systems across outdoor spaces. The role involves operating trenchers and soil compactors, performing repairs, and keeping work areas clean and safe.

Responsibilities include inspections, controller installation, sensor installations, and winterizations, with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and training junior staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–5 years prior landscape irrigation experience.
• Knowledge of communication cable and radio communication/hardware preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical fittings and mechanical gate valves.
• Understanding of irrigation controller hardware.
• Two wire system experiences.
• Knowledge of brass valve rebuild preferred.
• Resourceful, learns quickly and has a desire for knowledge.
• Self-starter.
• Detail oriented.
• TCEQ Irrigator's Tech license.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect irrigation systems and document repairs/upgrades.
• Clean decorative water features.
• Excavate and trench using hand tools.
• Backfill and compact to minimize spoils and signs of excavation.
• Maintain clean, safe, hazard-free work areas.
• Maintain and organize vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Train and mentor junior personnel on irrigation topics.
• Adjust sprinklers and valves; replace sprinklers including check valves and PRS.
• Install conventional and HE nozzles with appropriate precipitation rates.
• Solvent cement weld PVC per procedures.
• Repair lateral lines and mainlines up to 6 inches.
• Replace and rebuild irrigation valves and related components.
• Seasonal start-up inspections and drip conversions.
• Winterizations for seasonal markets.
• Install and program both conventional and smart controllers.
• Install rain sensors and soil moisture sensors.
• Record materials and labor used for each job.
• Wear PPE and follow safety rules.
