Job summary

Gulfshoresal seeks an Irrigation Specialist to install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems for city parks. You will operate trencher, backhoe, and skid-steer, perform system checks, and ensure efficient water use.

The role requires a Texas driver’s license, the ability to obtain TCEQ licensing, and willingness to work varied hours including weekends and holidays. Collaborative with Parks Operations and Fleet teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with related experience or equivalent.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and ability to obtain TCEQ license within 12 months of employment.
• Knowledge of irrigation materials, hydraulic/electrical systems, and water requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain irrigation systems for City parks and athletic fields.
• Operate light to heavy equipment including trencher, backhoe, and skid-steer to perform repairs.
• Perform routine checks to ensure proper operation and coverage of irrigation systems.
• Replace controllers and heads to optimize performance and conserve water.
• Use computers or devices to track work orders, expenses, and maintenance.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and pre-operation inspections.
• Support special events and recreational programs.
