Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Irrigation division at the Valley, Nebraska site.

This hands-on leader will oversee shift operations, drive lean initiatives, and ensure safety, quality, and productivity targets are met across the department. The role emphasizes coaching of staff, development of a high-performance team, and effective use of production metrics to improve efficiency and output.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience or 5+ years with an associate’s degree; or 7+ years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles including standard work and continuous improvement
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to manage safety, quality, and production goals and develop staff
• Experience with lean audits, kaizen events, and plant performance metrics

Responsibilities

• Oversee the production operations of the Irrigation Department
• Manage resources to meet safety, quality, and production goals
• Identify best practices, perform lean audits, and participate in kaizen events
• Use reports to gauge plant performance and inform decisions
• Control expenses for raw materials and operating supplies
• Staff and develop production employees and supervisors
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements
• Plan personnel to maximize efficiency and utilization
• Train and motivate staff to achieve safety and production objectives
• Lead a team of up to 60 direct reports and foster engagement and a positive culture
• Promote continuous productivity improvements and adhere to company policies
