Job summary

Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) is hiring an Irrigation Operator based in the Eagle Lake/Garwood area. You will work with a team to operate and maintain irrigation canals, automated check structures, and mechanical equipment, with on-the-job training and collaboration with industry partners across Colorado and Wharton counties.

The role may involve traveling to service sites, supporting irrigation water delivery to agriculture, industry, and wildlife, and meeting safety and compliance

Qualifications

• Two or more years of mechanical installation, maintenance, and/or repair experience.
• Class A Texas CDL or equivalent required for incumbents with heavy equipment operation and transportation responsibilities.

• Travel independently or with small crews to various LCRA service locations as scheduled.
• Maintain a network of LCRA Irrigation canals in Eagle Lake and Garwood service areas.
• Deliver water to LCRA customer base for ag, industry, and wildlife applications.

LCRA is now hiring an Irrigation Operator! Based in the Eagle Lake/Garwood area, this unique opportunity will allow you to work hand-in-hand with industry partners across Colorado and Wharton counties. You will work with a skilled team and receive valuable training through on-the-job experience in operating and maintaining irrigation canals, automated check structures, and mechanical equipment. How You’ll Contribute

• Travel independently or with small crews to various LCRA service locations as scheduled
• Maintain a network of LCRA Irrigation canals in both Eagle Lake and Garwood service areas.
• Deliver water to LCRA customer base for ag, industry, and wildlife applications.

How You’re Qualified

• Two or more years of experience in mechanical installation, maintenance and/or repair, or other relevant experience, including experience with electric motors, hydro metering equipment, heavy equipment operation, heavy equipment transport/loading/unloading, welding, or other relevant experience.
• Class A Texas commercial driver's license or equivalent from another state required for incumbents with heavy equipment operation and transportation responsibilities.
