Job summary

Environmental Management Inc. in Columbus, OH seeks an experienced Landscape Irrigation Installation Crew Leader to oversee residential, commercial, and municipal irrigation installations.

You will lead field crews, coordinate with Superintendents, and ensure timely, high-quality workmanship on multiple projects. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in irrigation installation and strong knowledge of irrigation components.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years irrigation installation experience.
• Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation systems and components, including Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, and similar manufacturers.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, irrigation plans, and construction documents.
• Working knowledge of irrigation controller programming and wiring.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to operate construction and landscape equipment safely.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise irrigation installation crew members on assigned projects.
• Delegate tasks and monitor crew productivity to ensure projects stay on schedule.
• Train and mentor crew members on installation techniques, safety procedures, and company standards.
• Coordinate daily activities with Superintendents, Foremen, and other field teams.
• Read and interpret irrigation plans, blueprints, specifications, and site layouts.
• Install irrigation systems including: Mainlines, Lateral lines, Valves, Sprinkler heads, Drip irrigation systems, Controllers, Backflow prevention devices.
• Perform trenching, pipe installation, wiring, and system assembly.
• Test irrigation systems for proper coverage, pressure, efficiency, and performance.
• Identify and repair leaks, wiring issues, valve malfunctions, and controller problems.
• Program irrigation controllers and smart irrigation systems.
• Troubleshoot existing systems and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with project specs and regulations.
• Maintain accurate installation records and daily production reports.
