Job summary

Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is an engineering and construction company providing detailed engineering packages and direct-hired construction services across the United States. The Ironworker role is based at our Mont Belvieu site in Texas.

The ideal candidate will assemble and install structural steel, operate rigging and lifting gear, and work safely in a fast-paced field environment with travel where required.

Qualifications

• At least 1.5 years of ironworker experience.
• Must follow company safety procedures and best practices.
• Must wear approved full body harness and lanyard on elevated platforms.
• Knowledgeable of crane signals (hand and verbal).
• Travel is required with extended periods away from home.
• Work shifts up to 12 hours daily and 7 days per week when needed.
• Must meet all physical demands of the job.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and secure structural supports according to specifications.
• Practical knowledge of structural steel assembly and installation.
• Use tools to adjust and fasten steel beams.
• Lift and move heavy equipment and materials using mechanical equipment.
• Attach loads using chains, slings, cables, hooks, and related gear.
• Able to manually handle and securely apply rigging equipment.
• Attach and detach loads effectively.
• Communicate with the rigging team and crane operator.
• Be familiar with standard crane hand signals.
• Assess weights of loads and equipment needed to lift safely.
