Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with experience in the field or related area.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline.

Responsibilities

• Read specifications or blueprints to determine material quantities or sizes.
• Assist skilled craftsman to fabricate metal parts according to blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Assist with unloading and positioning prefabricated steel units for hoisting; signal hoisting operators to lift and position structural steel members.
• Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural steel members using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, or levels.
• Cuts, bends, or welds steel pieces using metal shears, torches, or welding equipment.
• Assemble hoisting equipment or riggings to move heavy equipment or materials.
