TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an entry-level helper to support skilled craftspersons on construction sites in Mississippi. You will read blueprints, assist with fabricating steel structures, and help position and rig heavy components under supervision.

The role emphasizes learning to verify alignments, perform cutting and welding tasks, and work safely around equipment in a dynamic industrial environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with prior field experience.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline.
• Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn to read specifications or blueprints to determine locations, quantities, or sizes of material required.
• Assist skilled craftsman to fabricate metal parts, such as steel frames, columns, beams, or girders, per blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Assist with unloading and positioning prefabricated steel units for hoisting; signals hoisting of structural members.
• Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural steel members using plumb bobs, lasers, transits, or levels.
• Cut, bend, or weld steel pieces using shears, torches, or welding equipment.
• Assemble hoisting equipment or riggings to move heavy equipment or materials.
