Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is seeking a Perspective Pay Systems Coordinator (PPS) to oversee the IRF-PAI workflow, determining Rehab Impairment Category and Case Mix Group for payment under the rehab PPS. You will work as a vital member of an interdisciplinary team and stay current with Medicare regulations to ensure appropriate reimbursement.

You will educate staff to maintain UDS/FIM scoring accuracy, audit charts for competency, and guide physicians on admission criteria and documentation

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology.
• 3 years of experience in the rehab area.
• BLS certification required and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, assesses, monitors and evaluates the IRF-PAI process, determining a patient’s RIC and CMG for payment under the rehabilitation PPS.
• Educates staff to ensure UDS/FIM scoring accuracy.
• Audits charts to ensure staff competency with FIM guidelines and CMS Quality Indicators.
• Educates physicians on admission criteria and documentation to support admission and reimbursement.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
