Job summary

VetJobs in Falls Church, Virginia is seeking a Human Research Protection Specialist to support oversight of human research protection programs, IRBs, and regulatory compliance. This on-site role collaborates with commands to ensure protection of research subjects and alignment with federal rules.

Responsibilities include assessing command compliance, reviewing management plans, conducting site inspections, and preparing reports with findings and recommendations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years' experience in human research protection and compliance oversight.
• Bachelor's degree in biomedical or socio-behavioral field required.
• Subject matter expertise in human research protection, including application of the Common Rule and subparts B, C and D; HIPAA; and other human research protection regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as point-of-contact for Commands and provide guidance and oversight.
• Review and analyze institution-specific Management Plans, Instructions, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct site inspections and assist visits with Commands on a regular basis.
• Prepare written reports presenting results, interpretations, conclusions, and impact analysis.
• Travel to domestic and international destinations up to 8 times per year.
