Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is seeking a day shift, full-time Interventional Radiology Special Procedures Technician in Westwood, NJ. You will assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures, coordinate department activities, and ensure patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced radiology suite.

The role requires 2+ years of radiology tech experience, ARRT certification, NJ license, and-BLS with the ability to work independently within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Radiology Technician.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program.
• NJ Diagnostic Radiology License.
• ARRT Certification.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physician during interventional radiological procedures.
• Provide assistance to Physicians, other Radiology Technicians, and Registered Nurses in the performance of more complex procedures.
• Coordinate the daily activities within the Interventional Radiology Department.
• Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with approved technique and the ALARA limits.
• Position the patient on the examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of the specific body area as requested by the physician.
• Work independently and in a cooperative manner in a teamwork-oriented atmosphere within the department and hospital-wide.
• Explain procedures to the patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Under the direction of a Radiologist or Vascular Surgeon, perform all Interventional procedures on all patient populations.
• Prepare and maintain a sterile environment by using aseptic techniques, drapes, equipment, and solutions while assisting the interventional radiologist.
• Practice established principles of radiation safety and protection.
• Demonstrate appropriate and effective use of all radiographic equipment and computer systems such as RIS, PACS, and other hospital-based computer or PC systems.
• Utilize time productively and appropriately with respect to patient flow, room use, stocking of supplies, and clerical duties to increase department efficiency.

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• 2+ years’ experience in Interventional or Cath lab.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
