Job summary

Jefferson Radiology, a Radiology Partners practice in Connecticut, seeks an organized pre-certification and charting specialist for Interventional Radiology. You will prepare charts, verify demographics, schedule procedures, and obtain required authorizations in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred; medical assistant or clinical education is highly preferred.
• Experience in a clinical setting such as medical practice.
• Basic knowledge of health insurance; prior authorization experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem solving and conflict resolution abilities.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, prioritizes, and monitors daily work activity to ensure chart preparation and insurance authorization for Interventional Radiology procedures.
• Contact patients/guarantors by phone to schedule procedures and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Maintains accurate documentation in the appropriate system fields and/or account notes.
• Ensure pre-certification requirements are met in a timely manner and follow up on missing authorizations.
• Prepare patient charts with pre-procedure testing, History & Physicals, consent, and physician orders.
