Job summary

GW Hospital's Interventional Radiology unit seeks an experienced IR RN to support patients before, during, and after image-guided procedures in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

You will administer moderate sedation, assist physicians, monitor patients, and provide pre/post-procedure education while collaborating with radiologists, technologists, and nurses to ensure patient safety and outstanding outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current DC RN license (or eligible to obtain).
• BLS and ACLS (AHA-certified).
• Minimum 1 year critical care, emergency, or IR nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor patients for IR procedures
• Administer moderate sedation and medications as needed
• Assist physicians during image-guided interventions
• Monitor patient status and document care throughout procedures
• Provide pre- and post-procedure education and support
• Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and other team members
• Respond to emergencies and participate in resuscitation efforts
