Job summary

UVA Health’s Interventional Radiology team is seeking experienced RNs to work in a highly specialized environment where imaging-guided procedures, advanced technology, and collaborative care shape outcomes. You will support patients across the full procedural continuum, from pre-procedure assessment through sedation monitoring and recovery.

Strong ED/ICU background, solid assessment and critical-thinking skills, and interest in procedural and sedation nursing are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
• 1 year of relevant experience required.
• Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and prepare patients for procedures, including vital signs and IV access.
• Provide intra-procedure nursing support, including sedation administration and monitoring.
• Collaborate with interventional radiologists and technologists to ensure safe, efficient care.
• Monitor patients in recovery for bleeding, complications, and sedation response.
• Educate patients and ensure safe transitions after procedures.
