Job summary

Karman Space and Defense is hiring an IPT Lead to guide an engineering team in Mukilteo, WA. You will drive cost, schedule, and technical performance while maintaining strong customer relationships and staffing strategies.

The role requires a BS in Engineering and 7+ years in space/defense, with DoD clearance or the ability to obtain one. This is a full-time, on-site position with occasional travel to Huntington Beach or other sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in the space or defense industry.
• Proven ability to develop, plan, and execute projects.
• Experience with space/defense prime contractors and government agencies.
• Ability to read and generate blueprints, drawings, and diagrams.
• Current DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams to meet cost, schedule, and technical goals.
• Provide business, technical, and strategic leadership across projects.
• Assign personnel with the required skills to project needs.
• Monitor cost, schedule, and technical status of all team projects.
• Balance workloads and oversee hiring and staff management.
• Sustain team workload through strong customer relationships and proposals.
