Job summary

UBHCC Crisis Center/PB BHC in Poplar Bluff, MO is seeking an IPS Employment Specialist to join a multi-disciplinary team and help individuals pursue competitive employment through community job development and IPS-based supports.

The role includes assessing vocational functioning, coordinating with families and employers, reporting earnings, and maintaining regular employer contacts to support sustainable employment outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education or equivalent to undergraduate degree in mental health, social services, or business.
• Experience with people with severe mental illnesses and employment services preferred.
• Knowledge of the work world is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engages individuals with the goal of competitive employment in community job settings.
• Conducts job development and job search activities to match interests and needs.
• Provides individualized follow-along supports and writes job support plans.
• Conducts a minimum of six face-to-face employer contacts per week.
• Collaborates with vocational rehabilitation counselors monthly to coordinate services.
