Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a valid Alabama driver license, vehicle insurance, and driving record.
• Must be in recovery from a mental illness and willing to share recovery story.
• Must be at least 23 years old.
• High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Promote self-determination, recovery, self-advocacy, and self-direction; assist individuals in identifying strengths and goals; set objectives and identify barriers.
• Attend treatment team meetings to support self-directed advocacy and career planning with the Employment Specialist.
• Provide job development and coaching to support Employment Specialists on the team.
• Engage individuals in other programs and services to encourage employment; connect to community resources and transportation skills.
• Spend 65% or more of scheduled work hours in the community meeting with individuals seeking employment, treatment teams, and community partners.
