Job summary

ASTEMO INDIANA, INC. is seeking an engineer to join our team focused on development and application of IPM production processes and equipment for mass production of smart power modules used in inverters.

The role is fully onsite to best support manufacturing processes and requires hands-on experience with high-volume assembly and specialized equipment. The candidate should have strong data-driven decision skills, excellent communication, and familiar with PLC programming, robotics, and quality

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of processing equipment for wire/ribbon bonding and soldering
  • 3 years of related work experience with high-volume, precision assembly
  • Data-driven decision making and strong communication skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years in industrial manufacturing (preferred)
  • Experience with Keyence/Omron PLCs, Fanuc/Motoman/Yamaha/Mitsubishi robots, LabVIEW, and VB (preferred)
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 or similar standards (plus)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate IPM product processes and equipment (40%)
  • Support equipment problems and develop solutions (35%)
  • Support development of technology, resource, and production requirements (15%)
  • Support new business opportunity evaluation (5%)
  • Other duties to support corporate objectives (5%)
