Job summary

JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, teaches in the Interprofessional Education (IPE) Program and supports community practicum experiences, and coordinates community partnerships for IPE learning experiences. Participates in the development and implementation of faculty and professional development resources. Collaborates with faculty and staff to strengthen IPE program delivery and outcomes. The position includes program planning, development of partnerships and networks, resource development, as well as organization and electronic documentation of partnerships, programs, resources, and outcomes.

The Interprofessional Education (IPE) Program at Saint Louis University prepares graduates for interprofessional patient/client-centered care, effective and efficient delivery of health care services, and advocacy for the improvement of health and health services.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as a Course Director for IPE 4900; manage program logistics, curriculum development, evaluation, and documentation to support goal outcomes; engage with IPE adjunct faculty to assure that students are prepared for learning experiences, large- group and small-group sessions; coordinate and support faculty facilitators with resources to mentor student teams and outcomes; coordinate the practicum poster session presentations; work with programs, faculty and staff to accomplish student learning experiences and to maintain an electronic repository of projects/resources for faculty, students, programs and partners; and collaborate with the SLU University Core office to track and assess SLU student learning outcomes.

The course IPE 4900 Interprofessional Community Practicum utilizes a service learning model in which students apply IPE course material in a community health setting to achieve the following goals:

- Demonstrate interprofessional collaboration readiness to address population health

- Collaborate with a community health or social services agency to improve health or promote wellness among their target population.

  • Maintain and develop community-agency sites and collaborations with partners in the St. Louis Region that provide services and programs for vulnerable and under-resourced communities; develop new community-agency sites for placement of students for the interprofessional community practicum; engage in the development of Community Site Coordinators to strengthen the practicum experience through site-visits, events, resources, and ongoing communications; prepare and deliver site reports on program and student outcomes; develop and implement systems to develop clinical and community partner sites; and collaborate with other SLU programs that provide service-learning experiences for students.

  • Engage in program operations including contribution to IPE learning experiences, meetings, events and assessment processes. Development of personal and professional skills, including but not limited to teaching, leadership, scholarship, and SLU committees.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Skilled at working as a member of a team, developing collaborative partnerships within the community, and project management

  • Experience with program planning, implementation, and evaluation in an academic setting (college level)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to represent the program and institution in the community, engage in classroom and small group teaching

  • Strong computer skills for tracking, managing, and presenting program resources and project outcomes (Canvas LMS, Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Google, Web-based, PowerPoint, or comparable programs)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree required with over 1 year of teaching experience.

  • Strong foundation in collaboration and interprofessional teamwork

  • Strong communication and partnership development skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctorate’s degree

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role requires working in the office on campus at Saint Louis University as well as site visits to community partners to establish and cultivate positive and effective relationships that contribute to student learning experiences.
