Job summary

GlobalTec is seeking a Setup Technician in Michigan to ensure on-time production of quality products, perform machine setup, and assist with operator training. The role requires rotating through materials, tooling, and troubleshooting, with collaboration between engineering and maintenance for new equipment deployment.

Education includes a High School Diploma or GED and IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification; Class 3 IPC certification or willingness to obtain is required.

Qualifications

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, or spec sheets.
IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification required; Class 3 IPC certification or willingness to obtain.
Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to document processes.

Responsibilities

Process 1st pieces for pull test and crimp height measurements.
Set-up workstations with proper materials and documentation (ITP and 1310 forms).
Set up production machinery safely and ensure safety features are applied.
Follow production schedule and area lead priorities.
Identify and document reject materials per protocol.
Assist maintenance with preventative maintenance of equipment and applicators.
Backfill during light production to support operations.
Assist with scrap reduction and continuous improvement projects.
Maintain a clean work area and follow inventory transaction standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
