Job summary

General Motors in Warren, MI is seeking an Interior Design Release Engineer to develop instrument panel structures that support displays and customer features. You will act as the technical authority for IP structures, leading development, integration, validation, and launch with emphasis on safety, quality, cost, mass, and craftsmanship.

This role requires a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Automotive, or related engineering, at least five years of IP structure experience, proficiency with NX

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Materials or related Engineering.
• Minimum five years of experience developing IP structures from definition to launch.
• Strong ownership of subsystem development and delivery to milestones.
• Experience with DFMEA/DRBFM, ADVP&R or validation plans, ICDs and PFMEA.
• Proficient CAD workflows and release processes; CAE collaboration with Safety Performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, integration, validation, and launch of IP structure subsystems.
• Package components and manage CAD development; lead peer reviews.
• Collaborate with CAE, Thermal, Electrical, Body, Chassis, and suppliers.
• Balance cost, mass, part count, and customer requirements; drive milestones.
• Lead plant builds, supplier trials, and launch activities with a quality-focused mindset.
• Maintain documentation, risk assessments, and lessons learned.
