Job summary

EPITEC in Warren, MI seeks an Interior Design Release Engineer (DRE) to lead the development, integration, validation, and launch of instrument panel, floor console, and decorative trim systems with a focus on safety, quality, and performance.

You will work with CAD, DFMEA/DRBFM, PFMEA, and CAE teams, coordinate with suppliers and GM designers, drive cost and mass targets, and ensure on-time delivery through disciplined engineering execution.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years in IP, console, and decorative trim development from concept to launch.
• Sub-system ownership with design for manufacturability and automation knowledge.
• Proven proficiency in DFMEA/DRBFM, ADVP&R development, ICDs, PFMEA collaboration.
• DFSS Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, analysis, implementation, and validation of IP and console subsystems.
• Perform engineering design evaluations and concept development across vehicle programs.
• Use DFMEA, PFMEA, and CAE groups to validate robustness and inform design iterations.
• Assess design to manufacturing processes (injection molding, wrapping, thermoforming).
• Lead CAD development through suppliers and GM designers; schedule peer reviews.
