AmLaw 50 IP law firm seeks a Patent Agent to join their patents practice in a hybrid role. The ideal candidate has a technical degree and 2+ years of patent experience and will work with inventors and attorneys to protect cutting-edge technologies.

The role covers drafting and prosecuting patent applications, performing novelty searches, and supporting patent portfolio management within a leading firm. Hybrid schedule and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics with excellent academics.
• 2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Experience in data science, ML, AI, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, IoT or optics is highly advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas.
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions from existing technologies.
• Draft comprehensive patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the USPTO.
• Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree orhigher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics with an excellent academic record
• 2+ years of substantive experience in patent preparation and prosecution
• Experience in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things,optics, or related fields is highly advantageous
• Working proficiency in Microsoft Office software
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and writing skills, with an exceptional attention to technical detail and effective organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities
