Kingfisher Recruiting is sourcing a Patent Agent to join a leading AmLaw 50 IP practice in a hybrid role across multiple U.S. locations.

The patent agent will collaborate with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technologies, conduct novelty searches, and support patent portfolio management. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics with 2+ years of patent experience, and possess strong

• 2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Strong writing and communication skills, with attention to technical detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications with inventors and attorneys in emerging technology areas.
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions.
• Draft comprehensive patent applications and negotiate patent claims with the USPTO.
• Prepare reports and documentation for patent portfolio management.

A prominent internationalAmLaw 50law firmis seeking a talented Patent Agentto jointheir Intellectual Property (IP) - Patents Practice.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree orhigher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics with an excellent academic record
• 2+ years of substantive experience in patent preparation and prosecution
• Experience in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things,optics, or related fields is highly advantageous
• Working proficiency in Microsoft Office software
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and writing skills, with an exceptional attention to technical detail and effective organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions from existing technologies
• Draft comprehensive patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the USPTO
• Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management
