ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking a Patent Agent to join its IP - Patents Practice. The role requires a 2+ year background in patent prep and prosecution, with strong technical degrees in engineering or physics. The position offers a hybrid schedule and exposure to emerging technology sectors.

Ideal candidates will have experience in data science, ML/AI, wireless, semiconductors, optics, or related fields, and strong MS Office skills, along with outstanding analytical and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EE/CE/CS/Physics with strong academics.
• 2+ years patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Experience in data science, ML, AI and related fields is advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications with inventors and attorneys.
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Perform novelty and clearance searches.
• Draft patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the USPTO.
• Prepare reports for patent portfolio management.

A prominent internationalAmLaw 50law firmis seeking a talented Patent Agentto jointheir Intellectual Property (IP) - Patents Practice.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree orhigher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics with an excellent academic record
• 2+ years of substantive experience in patent preparation and prosecution
• Experience in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things,optics, or related fields is highly advantageous
• Working proficiency in Microsoft Office software
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and writing skills, with an exceptional attention to technical detail and effective organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions from existing technologies
• Draft comprehensive patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the USPTO
• Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management
