Job summary

Your Talent Team is seeking a Patent Agent for a prominent international AmLaw 50 law firm in a hybrid role. The IP—Patents Practice focuses on patent preparation, drafting, and prosecution in emerging technology sectors.

Ideal candidates hold a STEM degree and 2+ years of experience, with strong writing and communication skills. Hybrid work and competitive compensation are offered, with NY presence among other listed offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Physics with excellent academic record.
• 2+ years of substantive experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Experience in data science, ML/AI, wireless comms, sensors, semiconductors, IoT, optics is advantageous.
• Working proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas.
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions from existing technologies.
• Draft comprehensive patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the USPTO.
• Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management.

A prominent internationalAmLaw 50law firmis seeking a talented Patent Agentto jointheir Intellectual Property (IP) - Patents Practice.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree orhigher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics with an excellent academic record
• 2+ years of substantive experience in patent preparation and prosecution
• Experience in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things,optics, or related fields is highly advantageous
• Working proficiency in Microsoft Office software
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and writing skills, with an exceptional attention to technical detail and effective organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities
