Job summary

The Recruiting Hive has a unique IP patent agent opportunity with a leading AmLaw 50 law firm seeking to expand its Intellectual Property - Patents Practice. This hybrid role welcomes candidates with strong technical backgrounds and patent experience who want to work with top inventors on emerging technologies.

Candidates should have a relevant STEM degree, 2+ years in patent prep and prosecution, and excellent analytical and writing abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in STEM field as specified.
• 2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Experience with emerging technology invention discussions and patent strategy.

Responsibilities

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas.
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions from existing technologies.
• Draft comprehensive patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the USPTO.
• Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management.

A prominent internationalAmLaw 50law firmis seeking a talented Patent Agentto jointheir Intellectual Property (IP) - Patents Practice.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree orhigher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics with an excellent academic record
• 2+ years of substantive experience in patent preparation and prosecution
• Experience in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things,optics, or related fields is highly advantageous
• Working proficiency in Microsoft Office software
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and writing skills, with an exceptional attention to technical detail and effective organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas
