Job summary

Jobot is seeking a partner-level IP litigation attorney with a trademark focus to join its New York team and take the lead on federal court matters.

You will manage complex IP disputes, handle USPTO proceedings, and mentor junior litigators while benefiting from a strong, collaborative practice and a clear path to partnership.

This role requires 8+ years in trademark litigation, NY bar admission, and excellent writing.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in commercial litigation and intellectual property with trademark emphasis.
• Admission to the New York bar and to the New York federal courts.
• New York State court experience required.
• First-chair trial experience strongly preferred.
• Exceptional writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support IP litigators in federal court matters, including depositions, trial preparation, and trial.
• Handle opposition and cancellation proceedings before the USPTO TTAB.
• Prepare trademark clearance opinions and prosecute trademark and copyright applications.
• Draft and negotiate coexistence and license agreements; serve as a senior resource within the IP group.

Our client is a well-established, full-service regional law firm with a respected intellectual property practice. The Firm's IP group handles the full lifecycle of brand protection, from clearance and prosecution through licensing, enforcement, and trial, giving its litigators a deep bench and a steady pipeline of sophisticated trademark and copyright matters. The Firm is seeking a partner-level IP litigation attorney to join its New York team and take a lead role in trying cases.

• 8+ years of experience in commercial litigation and intellectual property matters, with a concentration in trademark litigation
• Experience with opposition and cancellation proceedings before the USPTO
• Admission to the New York bar and to the federal courts in New York
• New York State court experience (required)
