Qualifications

• 4–8 years’ US IP Litigation experience, ideally with a strong patent litigation background.
• Experience with technology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, software, telecommunications or medical devices disputes.
• Hands-on experience with discovery, depositions, expert witnesses, motion practice and trial preparation.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex patent and IP litigation matters.
• Take responsibility for key discovery tasks, including fact and expert discovery.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, draft and support motions and briefs.

IP Litigation Associate | Mid-Level | New York City | Compensation: $235,000+

Hawkstone Search is working with a leading US law firm that is continuing to grow its IP Litigation practice in New York and is looking to add a talented mid-level Associate to the team.

This is a genuine opportunity to step up your career with one of the largest IP Litigation firms on the East Coast. You’ll be joining a team of 7 individuals, handling high-stakes, technically complex disputes for some of the world’s leading companies, working alongside experienced IP litigators on matters where the work is substantive, and the stakes are high.

Having worked with this firm before, I can assure any Mid-Level associates that are keen to explore this position will see a substantive increase in earning potential but also in responsibility and fast track their progression to Senior Associate.

What you’ll be doing:

• Representing clients in complex patent and broader IP litigation matters
• Taking responsibility for key aspects of discovery, including fact and expert discovery
• Preparing for and taking depositions, drafting and supporting motions, briefs and other substantive litigation work
• Working closely with partners and clients on sophisticated disputes through to trial and/or resolution

What you need:

• 4–8 years’ US IP Litigation experience, ideally with a strong patent litigation background
• Experience with sophisticated disputes involving areas such as technology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, software, telecommunications or medical devices
• Meaningful hands-on experience with discovery, depositions, expert witnesses, motion practice and/or trial preparation
• Strong academic credentials and experience at a reputable US law firm J.D. (year) admitted to practice in NY + USPTO
