Job summary

Sony Music Publishing is seeking an Associate, Sample Clearance to support clearances for US-originating works and provide top-tier service to songwriters.

You will interact with labels, agents, and lawyers, log requests, manage documents, and contribute to streaming initiatives that extend the SMP catalogues. The role requires US work authorization and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Ability to manage a high volume of requests with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Handle Ex. US sample clearances for US-originating works with global affiliates.
• Interface with labels, agents, lawyers to gather splits and uses.
• Log licensing requests in Lotus Notes.
• Maintain audio files and clearance docs for Sampling team.
• Generate invoices and coordinate with labels and internal teams.
• Create sampling initiatives to promote SMP catalogues.
• Work with affiliates and writers to resolve infringements in the US.
• Conduct copyright research for licensing and chain-of-title matters.
• Keep SMP DISCO site updated with new works and searchable data.
