Job summary

Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP is seeking an IP Docketing Supervisor to lead the docketing team, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with governing rules. This hands-on leadership role combines IP docketing expertise with strong people management, and a drive for process improvements.

The role requires 8+ years in IP prosecution docketing, leadership experience, and proficiency with CPI, PATTSY, or Anaqua. A hybrid in-office/remote schedule is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive IP prosecution docketing experience, including supervision
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Self-directed with strong organizational and time management skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. and foreign patent and trademark prosecution
• Proficiency with IP docketing/management systems (CPI, PATTSY, Anaqua, or similar)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
• Demonstrated leadership with ability to develop and retain a high-performing team
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing priorities and deadlines

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage docketing staff by assigning work, monitoring workload, and setting priorities
• Recruit, onboard, train, and evaluate new team members; coordinate backup coverage
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of docketing activities across matters
• Maintain written docketing policies and monitor changes in rules
• Generate and interpret docketing metrics and present findings to leadership
• Design audits of docketing data and drive corrective actions
• Oversee docketing system onboarding and training for attorneys and staff
• Prepare client-facing reports and coordinate with attorneys and professionals
• Support system migrations and data integrity reviews
• Manage intake and transfer of IP portfolios with timely docketing
• Maintain strict confidentiality of information
