Balt seeks an experienced Assistant General Counsel, Intellectual Property (IP) to lead global IP strategy, protect the company’s assets, and collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, and commercial teams.

Responsibilities include managing patent and trademark portfolios, handling IP disputes and licensing, and conducting IP due diligence for corporate development. Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally may be required.

Competenze

• J.D. from an accredited law school with 10+ years of experience, preferably in-house.
• Registered Patent Attorney; bar in good standing (CA and/or MA preferred).
• Engineering or technical degree relevant to medical devices required.

Mansioni

• Safeguard the company’s IP assets and lead IP strategy with R&D, engineering, and operations.
• Manage global patent and trademark portfolio with outside counsel and budgets.
• Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate assessments.
• Manage trade secrets program and IP disputes/litigation.
• Draft and negotiate IP licenses, joint development, and university licenses.
• Support IP due diligence in corporate development and licensing.
