Job summary

Orrick Herrington & Suttcliffe seeks associates with 2-4 years in AI, copyright, trademark, trade secret or false advertising law to join our IP/technology litigation practice. We defend high-profile clients and handle cases across federal and state forums, with emphasis on evolving AI-related disputes.

We are true trial lawyers with a national platform, and we value strong writing, research, and client-facing skills.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of experience in AI, trademark, copyright, false advertising, and/or trade-secret law including litigation.
• Strong understanding of Lanham Act, Copyright Act, DMCA, trade-secret statutes, CFAA and related state laws.
• Trial experience is preferred.
• Membership in the state in which you are submitting your application is required.
• Highly motivated with excellent academic credentials and superior writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage IP/technology litigation and enforcement matters in the copyright, trademark, trade secret, false advertising and AI spaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients.
• Develop strategy for complex litigation and enforcement actions.
• Counsel clients on legal risks related to product development.
• Conduct legal research and analysis and demonstrate strong legal writing skills.
• Manage the discovery phase of litigation, including working with the client and vendors to run e-discovery.
• Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate strong client-facing skills and work effectively as a team player.
