Job summary

Orrick Herrington & Suttcliffe seeks associates with 2–4 years of solid experience in AI, copyright, trademark, trade secret and/or false advertising law to join our IP/technology litigation practice. We defend major brands and tech companies in high-profile matters, and our national IP group handles litigation across federal/state courts and tribunals.

We value trial experience, rigorous academic credentials, and strong writing skills.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in AI, trademark, copyright, false advertising, and/or trade-secret law including litigation.
• Strong understanding of Lanham Act, Copyright Act, DMCA, federal/state trade-secret statutes, CFAA and related state laws.
• Trial experience is preferred.
• Willingness to engage with a broad range of laws and legal principles to support technology clients.
• Highly motivated with excellent academic credentials and superior writing and communication skills.
• Membership in the state where you are applying is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage IP/tech litigation and enforcement matters in copyright, trademark, trade secret, false advertising and AI spaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients.
• Develop strategy for complex litigation and enforcement actions.
• Counsel clients on legal risks related to product development.
• Conduct legal research and analysis and demonstrate strong legal writing skills.
• Manage discovery phase of litigation, including e-discovery with client and vendors.
• Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate strong client-facing skills and work effectively as a team player.
