Dorsey & Whitney LLP seeks a Practice Group Director to drive operational excellence across Patent, Trademark, Regulatory Affairs, Labor & Employment, and Construction Litigation groups. You will partner with HR, Finance, Marketing, and KM to align priorities with firm initiatives and champion people-centered processes.

In this highly visible role, you will lead staffing, workflow design, budgeting, and performance management while promoting collaboration, compliance, and EBIT improvements

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10–15 years of supervisory and management experience.
• At least 7 years of patent and trademark experience including U.S./foreign filing, prosecution, maintenance, and docketing.
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. and foreign patent and trademark rules and procedures.
• Strong leadership and project management skills with effective stakeholder management.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with judgement managing sensitive personnel and risk issues.
• Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and performance reporting.
• Working knowledge of AI tools and willingness to evaluate emerging technologies for operations.

Responsabilidades

• Act as a strategic advisor to firm leadership on operational and administrative matters; lead initiatives to advance practice priorities.
• Lead operational initiatives within Patent and Trademark practices, including workflow design, staffing models, quality controls, and resource allocation; supervise IP Practice Manager.
• Partner with HR, Finance, IS, KM, Marketing to implement firm initiatives within Practice Groups.
• Lead people-focused initiatives at the Practice Group level, including onboarding, succession planning, training, workload management, and performance management.
• Coordinate with Finance on budgets, reporting, staffing models, profitability, and matter management; monitor trends to recommend enhancements.
• Facilitate client reporting and budget tracking; collaborate with Marketing on cross-practice initiatives and events.
• Support Practice Groups’ strategic plans, track progress, and address morale and performance challenges.
