Job summary

Bevi is seeking a Software QA Engineer to own quality across our full stack, validating embedded firmware on physical machines and hardening our firmware release process. You will collaborate with firmware and software teams to build test strategies ensuring release readiness.

This role requires working from our Boston office 3+ days per week, hands-on testing in hardware labs and cloud infrastructure, and a proactive mindset to improve development processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2+ years of QA or test engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience testing embedded systems (C/C++, RTOS, serial or wireless protocols).
• Familiarity with IoT/connected-device architectures and cloud-to-device communication.
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and test firmware and low-level software throughout SDLC to ensure quality and meeting customer agreements.
• Design, implement, and maintain test strategies for embedded systems and connected-device workflows.
• Validate firmware behavior on physical machines and test hardware, including sensors and connectivity modules.
• Test OTA firmware update flows for reliability and rollout safety.
• Identify and prevent defects to improve development processes across teams.
• Document test procedures and findings; participate in design reviews and release sign-off.
