Bevi is seeking a Software QA Engineer to own quality across the full stack, validating embedded firmware on physical machines and hardening the firmware release process. The role blends hands-on hardware testing with cloud testing, requiring presence in our Boston office 3+ days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years in QA or test engineering, spanning embedded/firmware and software.
• Hands-on testing of embedded systems with C/C++ in RTOS environments and serial/wireless protocols.
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira).
• Comfort working with physical hardware and lab equipment; ability to review firmware boldly.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain test strategies for embedded systems and device workflows.
• Validate firmware behavior on physical machines and test hardware, including sensors and connectivity modules.
• Test OTA firmware update flows, ensure reliability and safe rollback.
• Develop tests exercising interfaces (UART, I2C, USB, Wi-Fi) and fault conditions.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, and hardware teams to resolve defects.
• Document test procedures and findings in a bug-tracking system; participate in design reviews.
• Contribute to release sign-off and quality gates for machine and firmware releases.
• Explore AI-powered testing tools to improve coverage and efficiency.
