Job summary

Trilliant seeks a Product Manager in Cary, NC to own the market requirements and product intent for a device line, guiding it from concept through general availability to end-of-life. You will partner with hardware and firmware teams to translate customer needs into engineering-ready specifications.

You will build and maintain the product roadmap, balance competing priorities, and ensure interoperability with platforms while engaging utilities and field teams to drive adoption.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in product management, ideally for connected hardware, metering, or IoT devices.
• Demonstrated ownership of a product across its full lifecycle.
• Proven ability to translate customer needs into engineering-ready specifications.
• Experience working with hardware/firmware teams and external manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Own the market requirements and product intent for your device line, including the business case and what to build and why.
• Author clear, structured market and product requirements for engineering.
• Build, maintain, and communicate the product roadmap and align with priorities.
• Partner with hardware/firmware engineering to turn requirements into buildable designs.
• Manage the full product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life and transitions between stages.
• Prioritize roadmap trade-offs among new capabilities, sustaining work, and technical debt.
• Own competitive positioning and track standards, regulatory, and certification requirements.
• Engage with utility customers and field teams to validate requirements and drive adoption.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure interoperability with platforms.
