Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a phlebotomist to join our patient service team. You will perform blood collections, collect specimens for drug screens and tests, and ensure accurate data entry.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, phlebotomy certification or training, and COVID-19 vaccination unless exempt. Travel to additional sites may be required. We value excellent customer service and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program, or 3+ months experience as a phlebotomist.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID‑19 (unless exempt).

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Travel to additional sites when needed.

Work Schedule

Monday – Thursday 10:30am – 2:30pm.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients.
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
  • Travel to additional sites when needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program, or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID‑19 (unless medically or religiously exempt).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
Additional Job Standards
  • In lieu of work experience, the Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency.

  • Employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours, casual, intern and temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
Phlebotomist Information

The Phlebotomist will work in either a Patient Service Center or Client office. In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. Additionally, you will have opportunities for continuous growth within the organization. Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
