Job summary

Virginia Family Wellness is seeking a Resident in Counseling to join as an IOP Group Therapist in a part-time role with a clear path to full-time as programs grow. You will lead IOP groups and support PHP sessions, gaining hours toward LPC licensure in Virginia while working under close mentorship.

The position offers flexible scheduling with mostly virtual groups and in-person PHP as needed, and includes weekly licensure supervision, professional training, and CEUs at no cost.

Qualifications

• Must be approved (or eligible immediately) as a Resident in Counseling with the Virginia Board of Counseling.
• Master's Degree in Counseling.
• Previous group facilitation experience is required.
• Able to facilitate dynamic groups with calm confidence.

Responsibilities

• Lead IOP Groups: Facilitate sessions Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM (three 1-hour sessions, mostly virtual).
• Support PHP sessions as needed; PHP is in-person and runs Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
• Design engaging group topics (Art Therapy, ACT, Mindfulness) in collaboration with Clinical Director.
• Coordinate care and manage risk under supervision of experienced leadership.
