Job summary

Providence Swedish seeks a Neurophysiology/Intraoperative Monitoring specialist to perform all modalities during complex surgeries with minimal supervision. You will provide high-quality recordings, troubleshoot issues, and keep surgeons informed of critical waveform changes.

Preferred candidates have a neuroscience background, and at hire will obtain National Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree BS in Neuroscience preferred.
  • National Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring upon hire.
  • Experience with networking and computer programming.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all modalities of Neurophysiology/Neurovascular and Intraoperative Monitoring with minimal supervision.
  • Provides adequate recordings and troubleshoot technical problems; informs surgeons of significant changes.
  • Participates in development and implementation of software and procedures for optimal monitoring.

Description

Performs all modalities of Neurophysiology/Neurovascular and other Intraoperative Monitoring with minimal supervision. Specifically this will include, but is not limited to: cerebellopontine angle tumor surgery, intracranial tumor and aneurysm surgery/procedures, spinal surgeries including surgery for spinal deformity, thoracic aortic aneurysm surgery, and peripheral nerve surgeries. Participates in the development, selection, and implementation of software and procedures needed to provide optimal monitoring. Provides adequate recordings with proficiency in troubleshooting technical problems, keeps the surgeons and IOM physicians informed of any significant changes, including the loss of waveforms being monitored.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree BS in Neuroscience preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree Scientific discipline related to the biological sciences and in particular to Neuroscience
  • 2 years Intraoperative Monitoring experience
  • Experience in neurophysiology and neuroanatomy

The wage range for this position is $44.35 - $68.86. The base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
