Job summary

Providence Swedish is seeking a neurophysiology monitor to perform all modalities of intraoperative monitoring during complex surgeries. You will contribute to software and procedural development to ensure optimal patient monitoring and outcomes.

The role involves providing reliable recordings, quick troubleshooting of technical issues, and timely communication with surgeons and IOM physicians regarding notable waveform changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree BS in Neuroscience preferred.
• Upon hire: National Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring.
• Experience with networking and computer programming.

Responsibilities

• Perform all modalities of Neurophysiology/Neurovascular and other Intraoperative Monitoring with minimal supervision.
• Participate in development, selection, and implementation of software and procedures for optimal monitoring.
• Provide adequate recordings, troubleshoot technical problems, and keep surgeons and IOM physicians informed of significant changes.

Job description

Performs all modalities of Neurophysiology/Neurovascular and other Intraoperative Monitoring with minimal supervision. Specifically this will include, but is not limited to: cerebellopontine angle tumor surgery, intracranial tumor and aneurysm surgery/procedures, spinal surgeries including surgery for spinal deformity, thoracic aortic aneurysm surgery, and peripheral nerve surgeries. Participates in the development, selection, and implementation of software and procedures needed to provide optimal monitoring. Provides adequate recordings with proficiency in troubleshooting technical problems, keeps the surgeons and IOM physicians informed of any significant changes, including the loss of waveforms being monitored.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree BS in Neuroscience preferred
• upon hire: National Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring
• Experience with networking and computer programming

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree Scientific discipline related to the biological sciences and in particular to Neuroscience
• 2 years Intraoperative Monitoring experience
• Experience in neurophysiology and neuroanatomy
