Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY is seeking an Intraoperative Monitoring Technician II (IOM) to support complex IONM procedures across EP, EEG and NCV modalities in inpatient, outpatient and intraoperative settings.

Under supervision, you will perform preoperative checks, obtain baseline recordings, communicate monitoring plans to the surgical team, and ensure equipment is maintained; we value collaboration, accuracy, and patient care.

Qualifications

• CNIM (ABRET) certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs and implements IONM procedures independently including EP, EEG and NCV per protocol with preoperative checks and baseline recordings.
• Measures and marks correct recording and stimulation sites, applies electrodes and obtains baseline recordings.
• Identifies patient, surgeon and procedure and communicates the monitoring plan to patient and team.
• Explains testing procedures to patients and responds to questions and concerns.
• Prepares patient and equipment for recording; maintains and troubleshoots equipment as needed.
• Monitors tracings during recordings; annotates records with clinical observations and informs physician of issues.
• Archives studies and maintains patient records; supports billing documentation.
• Collaborates with Information Services, Biomedical Engineering and vendors to ensure smooth service delivery.
