RxSight, Inc. in Aliso Viejo, CA seeks an Engineer I for IOL Development to join a hands-on team advancing next-generation processes and products. This on-site position requires running pilot builds, metrology work, and data-driven feedback across Engineering, Manufacturing and Chemistry.

You will design experiments, analyze datasets, and present findings with minimal supervision. Proactive problem-solving and strict documentation are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics is required.
• Minimum of 1 year in a manufacturing environment (medical device preferred).
• Experience with ERP systems (QAD a plus).
• Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
• Experience with laboratory and metrology equipment.
• Training to be completed per the training plan in the document control system.
• Compliance with TRN-10007, TRN-10008, TRN-10009 within required timelines.

Responsabilités

• Improve performance and quality of RxSight products and support engineering and implementation of advanced technologies focusing on the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) system and related accessories.
• Support development of Next Generation manufacturing processes including mechanical and electromechanical systems.
• Design, execute, and troubleshoot complex experiments with minimal supervision, ensuring thorough data collection and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering to execute design experiments (DOEs) for troubleshooting or development; ensure data is organized, presentable and traceable.
• Partner with R&D technicians to ensure detailed experiments are executed as planned, owning flow and data collection.
• Provide live updates on project progress and communicate delays or challenges transparently.
• Operate a wide range of equipment including optical metrology (OCT, SmartScope, Comparator, Confocal Microscope).
• Design and implement fixtures to support LAL sample builds, inspections, and manufacturing processes (QMS release when needed).
• Conduct independent engineering studies to assess feasibility of next-generation products and processes.
• Write engineering reports and work instructions; drive release through QMS as required.
• Review mechanical and assembly drawings and provide constructive feedback.
• Continuously challenge processes and seek improvements.
