Job summary

The Arizona Department of Child Safety is seeking an Accounting Specialist 1 to process high volumes of invoices for contracted child welfare services. You will verify transactions, reconcile discrepancies, and collaborate with providers and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate payments.

The role requires attention to detail, knowledge of accounting principles, and strong communication skills. A bilingual English/Spanish capability is preferred, with flexible work arrangements including

Qualifications

• Proficient in accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with paying invoices and reconciling billing discrepancies.
• Ability to use multiple financial systems and MS Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient 10-key by touch and data entry.
• Experience in accounts payable or similar roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process high volumes of invoices and determine pay eligibility per contracts.
• Identify and resolve billing discrepancies with providers and internal teams.
• Assist with inquiries about payments and remittance advice.
• Help establish and revise payment processing procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
