Job summary
DSG Capital Advisors in Edina, MN seeks an Investment Trader and Operations Specialist to execute trades and oversee investment operations across client accounts. This hands-on position sits at the intersection of trading and operations, collaborating with investment and advisory teams to ensure accurate, compliant execution across client relationships.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field with a high degree of academic success
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in trading and investment operations
- Minimum of 2 years of experience executing trades on a live trading platform
- Experience with portfolio models and investment operations workflows
- Advanced Bloomberg and Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with Black Diamond, LPL, Schwab, and/or Fidelity
- Desire to take on additional responsibility as your skills grow
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced investment environment and enjoy solving complex operational challenges
- Proactive, collaborative, detail-oriented, and passionate about building investment operations and trading processes that create accuracy and efficiency
- Active Series 65 license
- Full-time, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- In-office (Edina, MN)
- Exempt position
Responsibilities
- Execute buy and sell orders for stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds, and other investment securities with a high degree of accuracy
- Review cash positions, account restrictions, model allocations, and tax sensitivity across accounts
- Ensure best execution of trades across multiple custodians using trading software and Bloomberg terminal
- Ensure all trades comply with regulations and firm policies and procedures
- Monitor market activity, economic trends, and market volatility to benefit client portfolios
- Support portfolio rebalancing and strategy implementation
- Review and reconcile trade activity to ensure accuracy and timely settlement
- Maintain accurate trading records and documentation
- Research and resolve trade discrepancies, corrections, and operational issues promptly
- Monitor and update client account positions, weightings, and risk models in Excel
- Maintain data integrity across CRM, portfolio management, and performance reporting systems
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance trading and operational efficiency
